Speaker Information

  • Steve_bethel_media_pic

    Steve Backlund

The Backlunds were senior pastors for seventeen years before joining the Bethel Church (Redding, California) team in 2008. Ten of those years were spent on the backside of the desert in Central Nevada where they led their church into renewal, significant numerical growth and positively affected their area.

In 2001 Bill Johnson and Kris Vallotton invited them to be senior leaders at Mountain Chapel in Weaverville, California (the church that Bill led for seventeen years) to continue leading the outpouring there. As a result of these experiences, Steve and Wendy have a special heart for senior leaders of rural and smaller churches. They believe strong local churches are the key to sustaining and increasing the manifestation of this current spiritual awakening.

  • Matthew

    Matthew Schlesinger

Matthew and his wife, Sabrina are the Senior Pastors of Grace Church in Oceanside, CA. Before moving to California in 2012, he served as the Executive Pastor alongside his father for ten years at Garden Valley Church. Matthew loves God’s Word, places priority on His Presence, and believes that the local church is the hope of the world. He is a proud father of three beautiful daughters and one amazing son. Their family mission is to “populate heaven and plunder hell”.

  • Daniel

    Daniel Mallipudi

Daniel's story is unique. Having been a member of the First Christian Church in Downtown Roseburg since the fall of 2012, he became the Senior Pastor in December of 2015. Daniel was born in India and was raised in Southern California. His great-great-great-grandfather was the first convert through the efforts of missionaries from Bristol, England back in 1842 As a result of those missionary efforts. Daniel had the privilege of growing up in a Christian home and knew from an early age he wanted to do one of two things with his life: he wanted to work for the Los Angeles Lakers or he wanted to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ.

When it became clear the Laker career path would NEVER materialize, he attended WCBC in Lancaster, California where he graduated with a Bachelors of Religious Education and Masters of Religions Education. Daniel’s testimony is a strong reminder to us all that God is never finished writing our story and His love for us knows no bounds. He has a strong passion for reaching those who have yet to experience what it means to have a personal relationship with God. He is an ambassador of hope to a world that is desperately in need of a Savior.

He is an avid sports fan and is favorite teams include the LA Lakers, LA Dodgers, Cincinnati Bengals and (of course) the Oregon Ducks!
