Heritage Ranch has an opening for a Houseparent couple who will provide full-time, direct care supervision, guidance and protection to six middle school boys, ages 10-18, accepted into the Ranch program. Our mission is to provide these children with a Christ-centered residential home environment, in accordance with the spiritual values established by the Ranch and regulations established by the Department of Children and Family Services. The qualified individuals will be responsible for supporting our mission, working with the Ranch counselor creating a therapeutic environment to promote healing and nurturing for each child, managing the day-to-day operations of the home and participation in activities involving the children, their parents/guardians and others involved in program activities. There is a full time direct care worker who lives on campus and assists with education, recreation, and daily living activities in the afternoon/evenings as a partner with the houseparent couple. Direct care worker is on 40 hours per week in this role.
Houseparents reside in a two-bedroom/one bath, private living quarters within the boys home. This position allows for time off every other weekend and 2 days per week (during school hours), as well as 7 weeks of paid holiday and vacation time. Compensation is commensurate with non-profit residential home environments. This is a 2 year commitment.
- Job Requirements:
Basic requirements include: Experience in Love and Logic communication skills and discipline methods required; Minimum 21 years of age; High school diploma/GED; Minimum of 2 years positive work experience; CPR/First Aid/Lifeguard certification required (or the ability to obtain as directed). Additional special skills and competencies may also be required.
