Elevate - Associate Leaders Training

Most of the leaders in a church are not senior leaders. These “associate” leaders include church staff, elders, volunteer leaders, and a whole host of other roles. The quality of a church depends much on the men and women in these positions. The Associate Leader Day of Training is an online event designed to strengthen the beliefs and skills of these vital leaders. Steve Backlund will be the host throughout the day, He will draw upon his 40 years of ministry experience (23 of which have been in associate roles) to help you thrive in your role. He will be joined by a different Bethel Church leader in each of the four sessions. It will be a powerful day filled with wisdom, revelation, answering the viewers questions, and much joy. Remember, if you cannot watch this live, you will have access to the content for a month so you will be able to view it at a time convenient for you.

  • Five Things Associate Leaders Must Believe

    Steve Backlund Wendy Backlund

The kingdom of God is primarily moved forward by good beliefs, not good conduct. Our actions certainly are important, but right living flows from right believing. If the Associate Leader is believing lies about God, him or herself, the people in their lives, or about circumstances, then it is going to be impossible to go to the next level in life and influence. In this session, Steve and Wendy Backlund extract truths from their renewing the mind books and messages and will share five beliefs to launch the Associate Leader into personal ministry breakthrough.

  • Five Skills an Associate Leader Must Have

    Steve Backlund Anthony Hilder

“Do you see a man who excels in his work? He will stand before kings; he will not stand before unknown men” (Proverbs 22:29). The associate, support leader of a ministry need a specific skill set to be effective. Just as an electrician needs to learn how to do specific things and address unique problems effectively and safely, the associate leader needs a specific skill set to successfully accomplish his or her assignment. In this session Steve Backlund and Anthony Hilder will draw from their own experiences in associate leader roles as they explore with you five of the most important abilities needed to do so.

  • Thriving in Your Relationship With Your Senior Leader

    Steve Backlund Carl Richardson

Steve Backlund wrote a book called Help! I Am a Pastor to help senior leaders in their role. He has jokingly said he wants to also write Help! I Have a Pastor for those with a senior pastor/leader in their lives. Indeed, for the associate leader, it takes great faith, wisdom, and love to successfully adapt and relate to the personality, vision, and leadership style of the senior leader. Doing this well greatly contributes to the health of the church. This session will reveal common mistakes associates make, plus give keys to overcome normal frustrations in support leadership roles. As with all sessions, there will be time for questions and answers.

  • Activating the Supernatural in Your Ministry

    Steve Backlund Tom Crandall

“‘Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ says the Lord” (Zechariah 4:6). We are not called to minister out of our strength or abilities, but with “dunamis” power (Acts 1:8). Whether we are a home group leader, an elder, a children’s church leader, or a deacon, we are empowered by God to release His power and presence in what we do. In the Bible Stephen and Philip were assigned as deacons to wait on tables (see Acts 6), but they both amazingly created a wave of revival in their “associate” leader roles. This session will help you develop strategies to increase the manifestation of the supernatural in your assignment. There will also be a time of impartation of Holy Spirit power.

During the last part of each session (approximately) 15 minutes, Ahab Ahindi will replace the session guest to join Steve in “praying in” what happened in the session. This time will give God opportunity to encounter every viewer with a personal touch or word from Him. In previous video conferences, this has been some of the most impactful times of the day.

Last 15 minutes of each session.
