We believe that children are a vital part of this, and that:

    ·the fullness of the Holy Spirit is available for kids of every age, that they can learn to hear the whispers of God and move in power and anointing

    ·our kids can develop a rich, inspirational friendship with Jesus

    ·our kids can experience the love of the Father, and in this find their identity as sons and daughters of God

    ·if we train up a child in the way they should go, when they are old they will not depart from it.

Job Requirements:

We’re looking for a passionate person (or couple) to be a key part of our church family and lead our Kids on Fire ministry. That’s developing and delivering an inspiring and fun curriculum for infants to Year 8 (~12years old). Reporting to the Senior Leaders you’ll:

    ·Oversee all programming for children throughout the church ensuring the content is consistent with our values and beliefs

    ·Define a vision for the children’s ministry (in consultation with leadership) that contributes to the church’s overall vision.

    ·Develop and deliver a ministry plan to achieve that vision

    ·Recruit and train children’s ministry volunteers.

    ·Co-create an annual budget (with senior leaders) for the ministry and deliver to that budget

    ·Establish and maintain a security system that protects children in our church’s care.

Of course, we’ll help you with the above, as we love working in team!

Highly Desired:

Ideally you’d have experience ministering to children and their parents, as well as experience managing volunteers. You’d relate well with people of different ages and backgrounds. You’d have some (or all!) of these attributes / skills:

    ·Love kids and want to invest in the next generation

    ·Previous teaching, kids church or early childhood experience

    ·A call to pastoral ministry

    ·Ability to teach a group of kids and keep them motivated

    ·Creative and enthusiastic about running fun activities

    ·Well-presented and self-motivated

    ·A growing Christian faith and character.

    ·Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

    ·A servant heart, and love being part of a church family

    ·Are aligned with the values and beliefs of the church.

    ·A lifestyle congruent with the biblical requirements for leaders (1 Tim. 3:1-13; 2 Tim 2; Titus 1:5-9).

You’ll have to pass a police background check. If you have teaching experience, previous experience in a Christian ministry, ECE qualification or training towards one and a current First Aid certificate, that’d be a bonus (but are not pre-requisites).

The Details

Catch The Fire Auckland is based on Auckland’s North Shore – we meet at 10am on Sundays and have a kids programme every week.

This is a part time role, initially 1.5 days per week consisting of 4 hours on a Sunday (9am – 1pm) and 8 hours throughout the week connecting with families and running the Kids ministry. It is envisioned this will grow to 20 hours per week as you expand the role and engage with families.
Total hours of 12 hrs per week to start
The rate is $25 per hour
